ABOUT PHIL
Since 2008 I am best known for photographing & videoing Weddings, Commercial Projects, Schools & Nurseries, Families, Events & Portraits. I really enjoy each of these areas and have built up extensive experience in all aspects.
Some of my already booked in jobs for 2026 are

- a large conference with BBC presenter Mark Easton & 700 delegates,
- Commercial videos & photography including a 3 week contract recently secured,

I'm a proud Dad based in Worcester with two gorgeous daughters Ella aged 15 & Molly aged 12!
The biggest complement I get (apart from the quality of the photos & video!) is that I make people feel relaxed having their photos taken, I’m very professional & that I’m a “nice guy” & that I clearly care about what I do! I used to hate being called “nice” but soon realised it wasn’t a bad quality! That’s just me in a nut shell although under that relaxed mode I am very professional in what I do & I understand the importance of getting lovely photos & video on important occasions. I also adapt very well to what I am doing whether it is doing a promotional video for a company one day and a school the next.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO
I always look forward to photographing weddings & I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings since 2008. I have developed my own style with all the experience I've gained photographing in any style whether it’s formal or more candid “reportage” photography. Most couples prefer a relaxed style which I enjoy. I'm also able to make any couple feel relaxed in having their photos taken.
Someone who works at a wedding venue once said to me after seeing me in action "You're very good at what you do, and you care. Not all photographers do".
I am a recommended photographer at numerous venues including Manor Hill House, Redhouse Barn, Barns & Yard , Birtsmorton Court.
I am always very thorough with all the weddings I photograph making sure I’ve checked out great locations at a venue for beautiful photographs and checking with the bride & groom before the day if they have any preferences.
I’m always happy to discuss ideas and to give advice as well, especially regarding the time available on the day for group photos (making sure that these don’t dominate the day) . I always offer the option for a pre-wedding shoot which is a great way to get to know each other and for a couple to get used to having their photos taken.
FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY
Having two young children I have had plenty of opportunity to capture those special photos from giggles to the more moody moments. I love taking family photos and my photo sessions are really good fun! I’m also used to photographing parents / grandparents and adjust my style accordingly! Whilst I can do studio sessions many families prefer an outdoor location which is a bit more fun for any children involved.
COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO
This is a big part of my work now and I love the whole process from initial contact with clients all over the UK, the planning process & execution of what is required.
I use professional Sony cameras , some dedicated for photos and other cameras for video for 4k (4:2:2 , 10 bit colour). I also have Aputure LED Pro lighting where required and pro level 32 bit sound recording including Tascam, Zoom, Sennheiser, AR. I am proficient with colour grading and editing using DaVini Resolve and Adobe Premier Pro.
For aerial coverage I use top end DJI drones including the amazing Air 3s. I also have the advanced A2CofC qualification for flying larger drones closer to people than is normally allowed.
EQUIPMENT
On occasions I get asked what equipment I use. And the answer is Sony professional cameras & Lenses. I use Sony mirrorless cameras & I have to say the quality for stills and video is stunning! It’s all high quality professional equipment bought from new & for weddings I have back up cameras / lenses etc. My main camera is the A7IV and for video the A7siii. I’ve gone from big camera systems to the latest more compact mirrorless systems which produces fantastic results and is a little bit more unobtrusive! For family studio shoots I use Elinchrom lighting & for Aerial photos I use DJI drones including the Mini Pro and Air 3s where I have the A2CofC qualification, and DJI cameras ….. really sorry if this has made you nod off!
